Julia Wright is an artist and writer living in a small mountain town where artists, environmentalists, writers and holistic healers abound.

In early 2013, I published “Lessons From Past Floods: Destruction, Restoration, and Preparation”. It first was a Kindle ebook, but people wanted the paperback version, so that came next. This book was meant to act as a wake-up call for members of the community that were not taking the threat of flooding occurring again very seriously in the wake of a fire in 2012 that left thousands of acres as hydrophobic soil above us. It morphed into a book that any one could use the information in it to be more prepared for any type of natural disaster they might experience. But even I wasn’t as prepared as I should have been for what happened during the summer of 2013. Flood water raged through many areas up the pass from Manitou Springs and into our historic district again, and again. The sequel to my first flood book was something I had hoped never to have had to write. But life is full of surprises, some more fun than others. “Lessons From Colorado Fires and Floods”  talks of the fire above our towns in 2021 and the major flooding that occurred in 2013.  It is filled with encouraging and informative stories to help people prepare for and survive natural disasters .

Before writing “Lessons”, I wrote “Discover Essential Oils for Optimum Health” as a way to introduce people to essential oils without the overwhelm factor that happened when I just talked about them.

Plus, I wrote a few books using some Public Domain content as the base, mixed with my photos and thoughts. Some of these are very popular in the European markets on Kindle.

I have many coloring and activity books that are fun for children and adults to use.

A few years ago, I fell down my “rabbit hole of creativity” and started creating transformative images of art using my Nature Photos as a starting point for them. I have shown them in gallery shows and at the Commonwheel Art Festival.
